I Have my Young Living Starter Kit, Now What?

If you've been thinking to yourself, "I have my starter kit, now what?" after getting your start with Young Living, here's the next step.

I Have My Young Living Starter Kit, Now What?

If you’re thinking to yourself, “I have my Young Living Starter Kit, so now what?” you’re in the right place!

A few easy steps to success are up ahead!

Step 1: Get Connected

The way Young Living works is by word of mouth.

Some of us love this way of life so much that we tell everyone we know and help you all along for the ride.

Get connected with what we call your “upline leader” and go to classes both online and in person.

Scroll through their Facebook group to learn something new to apply each day (or week-go at your pace!) that’s easy to add to your life.

If you don’t know who your upline is or where their education group is, ask the person who helped you get started.

Get a Reference Guide

I gift the Essential Oils Reference Guide app to each person who gets their kit because it makes life so simple!

Look up what your new oils can do.

Find what oils you need for a certain issue.

I love how empowering this app is for all new oilers!

Just Use Them!

Put them on.

You won’t do it wrong.

I promise.

Diffuse them.

Use three or four drops in the diffuser.

Use them, and then use them some more.

Consistency creates a new habit and a healthy home in this case!

Plan Ahead

Subscribe and Save is one of the best things our family did.

We save much more with the Young Living lifestyle compared to shopping in store, it’s unreal.

So, use posts like this, your reference guide, or an iTovi scanner to create a list of needs in your home.

Ditch-n-Switch

You get SO MUCH MORE than just a few natural remedies!

We ditch the bandaid mentality and switch to a wellness and proactive way of thinking!

Let me just save you lots of time here.

Everything in your house that isn’t Young Living isn’t safe at its core.

How do I know?

Because everyone but Young Living puts one or both of the following in their products:

  • pesticides (they spray their plant material)
  • synthetics (your body is real and doesn’t handle these well)

Go around the house. Create a list of all the products in your home. Seek out the Young Living product that will let you get rid of it for good.

Or, if you’re in my wonderful tribe of oilers, you can use our cheat sheet in our Facebook group !

Final Thoughts

This lifestyle should be simpler and less expensive.

If you aren’t finding this to be true, talk to your upline about diluting (our products are highly concentrated and like buying in bulk), Essential Rewards, and even a DIY here and there.

This is a hugely rewarding lifestyle that comes with a little learning curve, but one that is simple to navigate if you’ve got a great group to learn alongside!

Need a Tribe?

We’d love to have you!

How to Take Care of Your Diffusers

This quick tips guide will help you take care of one of the most precious items in your home and for your health--your diffusers.

What Kind of Diffusers?

Did you know there are two different kinds of diffusers?

1. Ultrasonic

This is your Aria, Rainstone, Feather the Owl, Desert Mist, Lantern, and other diffusers with an ultrasonic plate.

These use ultrasonic vibrations to put oil into the air.

They also have a great humidifying effect, which is especially wonderful in dry weather.

Many people say to watch adding citrus oils into diffusers because they’ll erode.

This is why I choose Young Living medical grade plastic and only Young Living oils. The purity and diffusers matter.

I’ve tried getting cheap diffusers off Amazon, and they eventually fail me every time.

Now, I just save my money and get the real deal through YL to avoid having to constantly replace the others.

2.Atomizing

This is for the AromaLux and any other diffuser with an atomizer.

An atomizer gives you the scent for your home that we have come to love, but it also has therapeutic and healing capabilities.

It breaks down the oil put into it and puts out small particles that are easier for your lungs and body to absorb.

Which Kind of Water?

The instructions always suggest distilled, but what if you’re a diffusing queen like yours truly and don’t want to lug huge distilled water jugs home from the store each week?

Our family chose another route that affects the quality of our water both in our diffuser and that we drink each day: reverse osmosis.

You can get a whole home reverse osmosis (see an example here) or one to place under your kitchen sink (see an example here).

This ensures we are breathing in and drinking in only the best water available sans prescription meds, heavy metals, and other chemicals.

Cleaning Your Ultrasonic Diffuser

Best practice is rinsing and wiping your diffuser after each use. The type of deep clean that follows is suggested 1-2 times per month.

  1. Turn off and unplug diffuser.
  2. Wipe out the reservoir with a wet cotton cloth.
  3. Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and clean the ultrasonic plate to remove any extra buildup.
  4. Rinse the reservoir with water, wipe it clean, and dry up the excess water with a soft cloth.

Cleaning Your Atomizing Diffuser

  1. Turn off and unplug diffuser.
  2. Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and swab to clean ALL areas of the diffuser.

Troubleshooting

  1. Check for power: if the light turns on, the power is working.
  2. Listen for fan: fan should be audible when diffuser is working.
  3. Make sure air vent isn’t obstructed or damaged.
  4. Check ultrasonic plate: if no bubbling is seen after water is added, the ultrasonic plate may need to be replaced.
  5. Check lid: if it’s not flush with the body, it won’t work properly.
