With winter air comes the nuisance of dry, cracked, and painful lips.
Because of this we turn into hoarders of lip balm. One in the car. One in our desk. Or if you’re like me and lose them every time you turn around, one in every room of the house!
For a while now, there have been reports on the levels of shocking toxins that enter our bodies through the constant use of lipsticks, glosses, and balms. Since it’s the biggest season for stocking up, it’s more important than ever to find options that are safe for your family but that also work for your lifestyle.
Are you a DIY-er ready to dig into a new recipe, or are you on-the-go and need something quick?
For those on-the-go, I suggest the following balms. Please remember that these are specific. For example, EOS “Wildberry” is ewg.org rated as a 1, but their “Sorbet” is a 3. My goal is to never go above a 2. These can all be found in the beauty section of the grocery or even in the checkout line.
Okay, DIY-ers… Get ready to cheer for the best lip balm you’ve ever made! The greatest part? It makes so much you can have one in every room in the house, at work, in the car, and still pass these out to everyone you love! I’ve so enjoyed sharing this and hearing how thankful my friends and family are.
Got 15 minutes? That’s all you need!

In a one cup Measuring Cup pour the following ingredients:
Heat in microwave stirring after each 30 second interval until completely melted.
(optional)Add 12 drops of Peppermint essential oil and stir until completely incorporated.
Place funnel inside first tube and pour until tube is almost completely full.
Repeat until all 25 are filled.
Tuck these in your kids’ bookbags, put some twine around them and tie them to a thank you card you’ve hole-punched, or drop in a super cute chapstick holder like this one for a teacher gift any time of the year. I especially enjoy the benefits of how putting a little extra on before bed makes my lips feel in the morning!
